OUTFIT BREAKDOWN

  1. CLASSIC/YEARBOOK.

It’s always good to start with classic. This is the outfit that often becomes your yearbook photo. It’s the classic outfit that screams “senior portrait”. For gentleman, this may mean your nicest pair of jeans and perhaps a button up collared shirt or a nice plain v-neck tee. Avoid any clothing that has overwhelming patterns or logos and branding. For the ladies, (depending on your style) we suggest you find a causal dress or a top with a plain neckline and a pair of jeans. Many yearbook photos are cropped close as a headshot, so it’s a great idea to choose a modest top or dress that shows off your shoulder blades but doesn’t cut so low it can’t be shown in the picture.

  2. CASUAL.

Your casual outfit should reflect who you are on a regular day. Your comfort is important so we can capture your personality and even shoot you just hanging out. If you’re a fan of ripped jeans, graphic tees, converse, crop tops, this is the outfit for those kinds of shots! We want to see your favorite outfit for hanging with your friends at the mall or park. Hats and accessories can be fun too!

  3. DRESS UP!

This option isn’t for everyone and definitely has a wide spectrum of how dressy you can go. It’s super fun to pull out a suit or semi-formal dress for some poses. Some guys prefer a button up and jeans with dress shoes and other dudes go for the whole suit, tie, and pocket square. It’s completely up to you! Ladies, we recommend wearing what you LOVE and feel confident in! If you rock high heels, wear them! If you don’t love walking in heels, skip it, and find a cute wedge or sandal or even go barefoot! A simple sundress could be fun or you can even choose a prom dress that wasn’t worn to prom this past spring. Your senior photos are a representation of your personality, so whatever version of dressing up you prefer, that’s the one we want!

  4. SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

You are unique and we want to make sure we photograph all aspects that make you, well, you! If you have a passion or hobby that we can implement into your pictures, this is the outfit to do so. Maybe it’s as simple as a letterman’s jacket, a sports uniform or jacket, your horseback riding attire, dance tutus or pointe shoes, or even getting barefoot and jump in the lake for the last shot. Props may also be incorporated into your photographs such as books, soccer balls, swim goggles, musical instruments; you get the idea! Whatever it is, let’s celebrate you! Let’s have fun and brainstorm ideas that create images that you are really excited about!

Most importantly, have fun brainstorming and planning and I promise we will have a fun shoot!
